What we're building

Surfyx is a social marketplace for surfers. We combine spot discovery, session tracking, and live broadcasting with a two-sided marketplace of surf lessons, rentals, and gear — all in one mobile and web product.

The core insight: every surfer already uses five different tools to plan a surf trip, track their progress, share their sessions, find lessons, and book gear. We bring them together in a product built by surfers for surfers.

The opportunity

A global, passionate, underserved community

Surfing is a global sport with a fiercely loyal community, but the digital tools serving surfers are a patchwork of generic social apps, forecast sites, and booking tools that don't talk to each other. There's room for a product built specifically around how surfers actually behave.

Two-sided with real economics

The marketplace connects a consumer audience that's already paying for lessons, rentals, and gear with a supply side — surf schools, instructors, photographers, and shops — that needs lightweight, modern tools to run their business. Revenue comes from transaction fees on real economic activity, not ads.

Local network effects

Every surf spot is a small network. Surfers who log sessions, share photos, and book lessons at the same spot create compounding value for the next surfer who shows up. This is the pattern that makes marketplaces defensible.

Our approach

Small, independent, capital-efficient

Surfyx is a founder-led company run by a small team. We raise what we need and nothing more. We prefer to ship a real product to real users than chase vanity metrics or burn capital on distribution that won't compound.

Quality over scale

We focus on getting every feature right before adding the next. Our product, mobile, web, and admin all share one backend, reducing operational overhead and letting a small team move fast.

Community and trust first

A marketplace only works if both sides trust it. We invest heavily in moderation, safety, reviews, and transparency. Business reviews are two-sided. Payouts are clear. Local etiquette is respected.
